Shiritori

This is a post to keep track of the Shiritori game my friend and I are playing. It'll be updated whenever new words are played. I've included the kanji, the hiragana, the romaji, and the English translation of each word.

YEAH!

Subs for LIAR GAME 2 are now out.

On a more random note, while I was driving home this afternoon, I saw two people cross country skiing without snow. It was very bizarre.

Comiket and Canadian Humor...

I went to Tokyo for the last time today in order to go to Summer Comiket, which was also the last thing left on my Japan To-Do list. It was a lot of fun, though very hot and I now have a nice sunburn. I took over 60 pictures of the cosplayers, so I'll be posting pictures when I'm back in America. (Hmm...I still need to do the Fangirl Tour ones, too.) I also ended up buying two doujinshi as I figured that I should buy something as that was my third time attending that event and I hadn't bought anything during the other visits. I was able to find some non-traumatizing "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" doujinshi. I started giggling at one of the stories where it played with the idea of the hero misinterpreting the clues he'd been giving for saving the day. I also bought some hairsticks for myself and my mom. (I'm still amused I bought something for her at Comiket.)

On a completely random note, I found a hilarious video of a Canadian tv show I like, "The Red Green Show". I love the humor in the show, and it caters to my Maintenance Girl side. This clip has the characters running out of duct tape. (I was known in high school for always having duct tape with me, even on the Senior Class trip.)

Tuesday Evening Musings...

Silly Japanese technology with kanji I can't read which prevents me from turning on my A/C. Bah...I had the A/C in my old apartment figured out, but now I have something completely new. *sigh* I guess I'll ask Numata-san about it tomorrow...

I had fun in my elementary school classes today. After the memory verse test, we played musical chairs, and that was highly entertaining. In one of my 5th grade groups, the winner of the first game was a quiet girl whom I've never heard raise her voice or really seen her being hyper. She was calm amongst the craziness that was the rest of her classmates, and I watched in amusement as she gracefully and slowly slide into the chair in the final round while her opponent could only look on in surprise. With my 6th graders, in the final round of one of the games, the winner had quickly sat down, and her opponent ran into her and bounced off, landing on the floor. It was so funny.

I also found a cool webcomic while I was stalkering wandering throughout LJ. It's a webcomic based on fairytales called No Rest For The Wicked, and it's a fun and interesting read. I'm fond of the main characters, especially Red (who is a pyscho Little Red Riding Hood). I also like the artwork, which is made up of blacks, whites, and grays with the only actual color being Red's cloak and, so far, the Beast's roses (which makes them stand out even more). I think I'm about halfway through it, and unfortantely, from what I can tell, the artist isn't able to update quickly, though I'm not sure how big of gaps there might be between updates since I just started reading it yesterday. MR. BRAIN Randomness...

It is highly entertaining to see Yankumi going crazy and beating the snot out of people. I am sad that her story arc is now finished. I am starting to like the older detective more, and I still like Mizushima Hiro. Still not a fan of the main people.

七夕

I wish all of you a wonderful Tanabata celebration. The night sky in Yokohama was clear with only wispy clouds, so the lovers were able to meet here tonight. :)

Also, I updated my Shiritori post as I was many words behind. Enjoy. :) http://wistfulmemory.livejournal.com/114249.html

Randomness...

Okay, I should be in bed, but two random things that I found amusing today. One is an e-mail I got from my mother. It was a forward which had pictures of Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped and pictures of it now. I was scrolling through the modern ones, and I discovered that the pictures weren't of Hiroshima. They're from Downtown Yokohama. I was able to spot quite a few landmarks that I know are only in that area (including Japan's tallest building).

Another thing is how my Japanese teacher was able to use my interest in Japanese dramas (and especially Atashinchi no Danshi) to show examples of certain forms of statements in Japanese. It made me giggle, but I definitely remember what she was trying to teach me.

Now I'm off to bed...

Hopefully I remember this recipe when I'm back in America and have access to my father's crockpot...

The Sermon...

...is now completely written and has been sent to the translator. All that's left is practicing it a few more times and actually presenting it tomorrow.

Tomorrow's going to be such a busy day...

*sigh*

Bah... I'm currently not thinking deeply, which is something I need to be doing as I'm attempting to work on my sermon for this weekend. *sigh* I'm also needing a title for the sermon (which is about the Fruits of the Spirit) if anyone out there is feeling creative...
